Anyone who's been anywhere near me lately will have heard me moaning and complaining about how much my right skate hurts my foot. Seems it's more than just a bit of rubbing - it's one of these!
http://www.yourfoothealth.com/Bunionette.html

I've been trying to ease the pressure by wearing a bunionette pad, but it hasn't really helped much. The pain after Sunday inspired me to order a different (heat-moldable) pair of boots. Just wanted to raise it as a heads up, because it seems that bunionettes are a common skater's problem, and can only really be fixed by getting new boots or having a hole cut out in your current boots to ease the pressure - or surgery. It doesn't usually go away on its own, and the bigger it gets, the more it'll hurt :(

Yea everyone has been RAVING about them on the yahoo roller girls group. I cant wait to see em in person.

Also though, there was this message:
SCRV was lucky to test these boots out and have made several
recommendations to make this boot better. THIS boot is BONTS
recommendation to move the quad boot into the 21st century. It has
carbon or fiberglass bottoms, memory foam insoles and is made in the
shape of your foot, or I should say a natural foot shape. The boots
are comfortable and soft, but with the narrower design or water sock
type fit you need to be careful on how the plates are mounted and the
size you use. The boot has to be heat molded to fit correctly and
with the tight turns of a derby track the strong counter may cause
irritation on the ankle but this can be resolved by using an EZEEFIT
ankle sleeve. The boots are amazing, but I recommend semi custom, and
Bont sizes run a couple of size smaller than usual.

Oh and the ingenious and simple design of putting Velcro on the tongue
to keep it in place was a godsend.

Oh I'm sorry that gel pad didn't work out for you! Mine wasn't that bad but the pad helped me - maybe because it wasn't that bad though!

Here's where I ordered from just for anyone's future reference:

Foot Health Care

Metallicat, hope your boots arrive el-quicko and that you're pain free soon!
