at the moment I have been hiring stuff from Jo but the stuff is not so good...
mystery ball bearings starting falling out of the skates last week? lord knows from where.

Anyway I am super poor, because I work in a school, and get paid squat..

SO...was wondering if anyone has any of the falling to sell

-Riedells [or other good starter skates] size 6
-starter wrist guards
-starter elbow pads
-helmet

I don't have a great amont of money, not enough to buy new equipment, but enough to buy stuff second hand. I'd also bring you a quiche on the 21st or a beautiful card or mix-cd as an extra thankyou!

yesyes?

xx

I wish I could help. :(. I became a little 'wide eyed' when I was costing everything up for my kit! Have you considered ebay? I remember you saying that Father Christmas was going to get you some derby gear, so perhaps you could 'make do' with a pair of those really cheap skates that turn up on ebay in the meantime. I also remember picking up the ball bearings from your skate wheels last Thursday! Not good ....

As a bit of a side note: I wonder if its possible to set up a 'virtual newbie shop' where more experienced or retired skaters getting rid of their old starter kit can sell it on to hard-up newbies. I was extremely lucky and got my R3's for less than half price because someone who had just quit was selling on her stuff ... for which I am very grateful!

a friend of mine recently managed to pick up some speed skates in a charity shop for a tenner (which I thought was shocking _and_ impressive) so they're worth a look as well.

Lenny, I might be able to help with some cheap skates if you PM me. There should be a box at the end of this post with 'PM' on it. Just click that and you should be able to send a message.
